Jim in Japan

Well it only took me 5 days to find a computer I could work. I am in Nara for today and tomorrow(thurs.& fri.). Things seem easier here. Kitakyushu is more small townish with not much international chops. Hope you are doing O.K.

My shakuhachi lessons are beyond belief. The first one lasted 6 hrs. I`ll tell you all about it later. Yamato-san is 75yrs. old with a quadruple bypass and diabetes and kicks butt all day long. The second day went 4 1/2 hrs. The 3rd day I hollered uncle after about four hours. I`m going to have to really buck up to hang in with this guy. He and his wife feed me, do my laundry and treat me like visiting royalty. It`s an incredible experience.

Hey, what`s up with J.D.? Insn`t he a little old for this type of shit? Was it an issue of respect? Wha` hoppen?

Hopefully I`ll be able to keep in touch when I go back to Kitakyushu. I`ve learned a couple of tricks here. I hope they work when I get back down there.

       Take it easy

             Your bro
